Card 4.The Bedlington Terrier a watchful eye for Santa
Poem; With curly coat and dainty gait and soulful, almond eyes His lamb-like look and playful skips and gentleness belies The lion heart that beats within, his courage and his strength He'll hunt in cold and rainy climes and then stretch out full length With watchful eye and listening ear to guard the place he lives Curled up upon his owner's lap, what joy and love he gives. He's faithful, agile, full of fun, he loves to leap and swerve He dashes here and saunters there, his head and back a-curve
He'll trot beside you quietly or gallop, race and canter But this one stands so very still, looking out for Santa. Poem by Prue Mathews © 2025

"The First Snowfall" Card 5 Outside
Poem; ‘A little lamb of snowy-white, Stepped from the door into the light. His tasseled ears, a velvet fray, He tilted at the winter day. The cold air stung his softest nose, He tip-tapped on his curious toes. This powder, soft and new and bright, Had fallen in the silent night. He pushed his frozen muzzle deep Into the drift, a woolly sheep. Then sprung away, a joyful sprite, And raced across the fields so white. A leap, a bound, a headlong dash, A blur of glee in one quick flash. The lamb, the lion, brave and sweet, Found happiness beneath his feet.’

I thought I'd got one by the tail, only to find I had a mouthful of tinsel." "They won't buy that! Last year, it was two pheasants wot flew through the open window."
